100% of any and all money received from the various events/fund raisers/functions
we attend has always been used exclusively to pay the postage
for mailing our care packages to our Troop's every other week

Wednesday - January 14, 2009 meeting at 5:00 PM
Our theme for our troop's boxes will be:
"Sweet Dreams"
Which will include a travel size pillow complete with a homemade pillowcase,
one side patriotic & the other side plain so that we can write messages to our troops.
We will include a book, newspaper, or something to read & some nite-nite snacks like cookies,
hot cocoa, peanut butter & cheese crackers, chips, nuts, candy, some koolaid to help
quench our troops thirst after eating all of those snacks!
After our troops snuggle their pillow & get some much deserved shuteye they will wake up to
dried fruit mix, juice box, etc. Last but not least, we will add some small toiletries,
a toothbrush & paste so our troops will be clean & fresh to start their new day!
We will also add some blank Valentine cards so our troops can send their loved ones back home a Sweet Valentine!
Wednesday - January 28, 2009 meeting at 5:00 PM
Our theme for our troop's boxes will be:
"Happy Valentines Day
&
Daytona 500 Nascar Race"
Which will include Lots of Hearts of all kinds,
Sweet Valentine cards with messages about how much we love them, any & everything that is Red, Pink & Sweet!
We will include some little match box race cars, a Nascar pocket calender,
Buick items from the Buick Club of America, any & every thing that pertains to Nascar/automobiles.
We will also include some snacks/food that you would eat while watching the Daytona 500 Race
like Vienna sausages, beef jerky, summer sausage, chips, nuts, trail mix,
canned beans & weenies, canned soup, mac & cheese, microwave dinners, etc....
A bottle of 100 Year GM bottled water with some kool-aid packets.
Awww.... we couldn't forget to send them a Beer to help them Cheer
&
we thought a can of Root Beer would have to do!
Wednesday - February 11, 2009 Meeting at 5:00 PM

Which will include a Jolly Roger Flag,

Our theme for our troops boxes will be:
"Willie Wonka & the Chocolate Factory"
Which will include "LOTS"
of Yummy Chocolate of all kinds.
We will also include some history about Willie Wonka & his Chocolate Factory,
&
a Willie Wonka word search puzzle
for our troops to do while they munch on their
next to Last Delicious Chocolate
that we can mail before the
Soaring Hot Summer Temperatures
begin In Iraq & Afghanistan!
We will have a display set-up at the Flint Home Builders & Garden Show.
This will be our 3rd year at the show {THANK YOU to the ENTIRE Lambert family for their support}

The show will be at the Perani Arena located between Dort Hwy & Center Rd. on Lapeer Rd.

"Happy Easter.... Hippity Hoppity"
Which will include an Easter Basket filled with Messy Easter grass,
Chocolate Bunnies, Eggs of all sorts,
Jelly Beans, Peeps, Bunny Teeth,
Gummi Bunnies & Carrots, etc...
We will also include some Easter/Spring toys, Plush stuffed Bunnies,
&
a plastic egg filled with a Very Special Easter message from us to our troops
so they know that

And Afghanistan with a Prime Rib Dinner Fund Raiser from 1:00PM until 5:00PM

Which will include Lots of toiletry products like baby wipes,
hand sanitizer, body lotion,
foot/body powder, deodorant, body wash, shampoo, conditioner,
tooth paste & brushes, dental floss,
mouth wash, razors, wash cloths, scrunchies, etc....
So our troops will be Shiny, Clean, & Bright!
We will also include some personal
female hygiene products
&
Girlie stuff for our gals!
Wednesday - April 22, 2009 Meeting at 5:00 PM
Our theme for our troops boxes will be:
"Rednecks, Ya Gotta Luv 'em"
Which will include Lots of
Goofy Homemade Silly Hillbilly Joke Stuff
along with a Jeff Foxworthy CD
&
some Redneck paper jokes
to make our troops Laugh Big Time!
To compliment their Redneck box we are going to send them some
Editable Redneck Goodies like homemade rock hard stew mix
sardines, redneck trail mix, pork rinds, chicken peeps,
cornbread, a Redneck candy bag, & of course, we would not forget some
White Lightning/a Plain Old Bottle of Water!

While our troops are so far from home bravely serving our country
we are going to bring them a taste of "Home" Redneck Style!

Our theme for our troops boxes will be:
"An All American Picnic"
Which will include hot dogs, (Vienna sausages)
mayo, ketchup, mustard, relish,
baked beans, chips, watermelon candy,
Little Debbie apple/cherry pies,
gummi hot dogs, hamburgers,
french fries, & ice cream cones,
licorice, water, lemonade drink mix,
plates, napkins, place mats,
Frisbee's, summer toys, fly swatters, fly strips,
sunblock, insect repellent,
a homemade patriotic music CD.
Think about it, what is an American picnic
without some Insect Critters
like ants, bee's, dragon flies, etc...
So... we will send our troops some
Good Old American Insects
so they will feel like "HOME"
Critters & All!
Last but not least, we will add an
American Flag
so that our troops know that
America/Michigan Has a Special Place
For Our Troops In Our Hearts!

"A Hawaiian Luau"
Which will include a hula skirt, lei,
coconut bra, flamingo's, parasols,
Hawaiian luau decorations,

to top off our Hawaiian attire/fun stuff
we will include a canned ham,
a can of pineapple/tropical fruit,
some tropical trail mix, coconut cookies/candy,
Hawaiian punch drink mix
etc..........
We will also include any coconut smelling shampoo/lotion/lip balm etc...
So our troops will know they are even Loved Aloha Style!
Wednesday - June 17, 2009 - Meeting at 5:00 PM
Our theme for our troops boxes will be:
"A celebration of the 4th of July"
Which will include LOTS of Red, White, & Blue party decorations,
Homemade Fire Crackers,
(decorated paper towel tubes filled with candy)
strawberry, raspberry, & blueberry breakfast bars,
strawberry, raspberry, & blue berry jams with saltine crackers,
any food/candy items that are red, white, or blue,
like spaghetti-o's, salsa, twizzlers, popcorn, etc...
We will also include some
red & blue colored kool aid drink mix
with a bottle of water
so our troops can celebrate
America's Birthday
even though they are so far from home!
Smile!!!
Last but not least, we will include a small bag of toiletries so our troops can
freshen up after all of their celebrating!

Saturday is the Tractor show & Tractor Pull.
Sunday, is the 16th annual Lennon Lions Club car show.
There will be a craft show both days.
We will be there from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM both days.

"THE NOW FAMOUS - JUST BUGGIN YOU"
Which will include "BUGS" of all sorts,

“Back To The Bricks” Car Show and Cruise in downtown Flint, Michigan
We will have our Trailer set up in the UofM parking lot this year.
The times: Friday - 4:00PM until dusk
Saturday - 9:00AM until dusk.
The event starts on Wednesday the 12th

Wednesday - August 26, 2009 Meeting at 5:00 PM
Our theme for our troops boxes will be:
"Angels are watching over you"
Which will include angel pendants,
angel beanie babies, angel stuffed animals,
inspiration angel/spiritual poems,
angel pictures, angel paper cut outs,
angel bookmark cards, prayer coins,
pennies w/poem, "Pennies From Heaven"
angel notes from our community, etc...
We will include some angel food cakes, homemade puppy chow mix,
covered in angel like white powder sugar)
&
lifesaver candy along with other food/snack items to help make our box Angel Perfect!
For an added touch we will include a little bit of Red, White, & Blue stuff to honor September 11, 2009 - Patriot's Day!
We will also include an Extra Special American Angel(Toy Soldier)
in a small bag from a young lad named Zachary who donated his Toy Soldiers at a rummage sale I visited.
Friday, Saturday & Sunday August 21, 22 & 23rd, 2009
We will have our trailer set-up at the 35th annual
Mid Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association show in Oakley Mi.
Show hours are Friday & Saturday 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and Sunday 9:00AM to 2:00 PM.
This is one of the largest tractor shows in the country.
There will be fireworks Saturday evening around dusk.
You don’t want to miss it; it is worth the drive to Oakley, Mi.
From the Flint area, take I-69 or M-21 to Owosso and turn north on M-52.
You can also take M-57 west passed Chesaning and turn south on M-52 (S. Oakley Rd) towards Oakley.

"Friendship Box"
Which will include cut out paper hands with friendship messages,
friendship beads, homemade friendship bracelets,
paper sack with a gift from Me 2 U,
friendship poems, hearts of all sorts, friendship necklaces & wrist bands,
stuffed dogs, (man's best friend) etc.........
We will also include Lots of snacks like nuts, PB crackers, Vienna sausages,
slim jim's, cereal bars, kool-aid singles, along with a few toiletries
so our troops will know they are truly America's Best Friend!

pink shampoo & conditioner,
pink body lotion, pink lipstick,
Mary Kay samples, pink toothbrushes, etc....
We will also add pink chewing/bubble gum, pink lemonade kool-aid singles,
strawberry pink pop tarts, Barbie fruit snacks,
pink frosted cookies, pink candy, etc....
If it is Pink & Prissy we will pack it up!
Bet our troops will have Rosy Pink Cheeks when they receive their Special Barbie Box!

Since our first Prime Rib Dinner [Last March 29th] was such a hit with everyone
we have decided to do it again - only better!
We will be serving the best Prime Rib dinner you ever had from noon until 6:00PM
Located at: Burton VFW Post 2777 2260 S. Belsay Rd. Burton, MI 48519
[Between Lippincott & Atherton roads - look for the "Tank"]
Weather permitting there will be both seating inside and outside [Tents].
Advance Tickets are available, the total number of tickets will be limited to 300.
Due to the expected number of "Walk-Ins", the Pre-Paid tickets
will only be guaranteed until 5:00 PM the day of the Dinner.
SO...First come, first served from 5:00 PM until 6:00 PM
10 oz Prime Rib Dinner: $10.00
Spaghetti Dinner, 5 to 11: $2.00
12 and older: $4.00
Kids 4 or younger eat free
All meals will include a Dessert and Drink

There will be a Parachute Jump 4 R Troops by WILD WINDS SKYDIVING around 3:00 PM [Weather permitting]

from 7:30AM until after the "Pumpkin Drops" around 5:30PM.
The Pumpkin Fest has LOTS of vendors and rides galore for the kids.
We will be packing a few boxes for our troops

to let our troops know how Thankful we are for them!

Our theme for our troop’s boxes will be:
"A Charlie Brown Christmas Tree"
Which will include a Very Special Charlie Brown Christmas story,
a Charlie Brown tree complete with lights, ornaments, garland
& a star tree topper.
We will also include their very own stocking with their name on them
filled with Candies, nuts, toys, tooth brush & paste,
Santa hats, reindeer antlers, Christmas music CD, Christmas decorations
&
Their very own present so that our troops will have a little something
Special to put under their Christmas tree!
Merry Ho! Ho! Christmas to our troops!Smile!!!
We will also be taking a group photo for our personal picture Christmas card
to be mailed in our Christmas cookie box on November 18, 2009.

Our theme for our troop’s boxes will be:
"A whole Box of Homemade Cookies"
Which will include their very own tin
Full of homemade cookies, (around 4,000 - Ya that many) candy,
Fudge, Sweets & more Sweets!
Smile!!!
We will include candy canes & their legend story,
reindeer noses, elf pillows, snowman soup,
a blank letter from Santa so our troops can send them back home to their children,
&
Lots of other Christmas legends!
We will also include a photo Christmas card from our group
